Born Out of a Need. Built on Service
In 1995, Captain Don Belter of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department noticed a problem: when natural disasters or emergencies struck, there was no reliable ice delivery service available—especially after hours.
Ice was needed at night, on weekends, and during heatwaves, but local suppliers weren’t meeting the demand. Restaurants, bars, and emergency services were left scrambling.
So Don brought in his son, Mark Belter, and Bear Ice was born.
Together, they built a company around three core promises:
- Be available 24/7
- Deliver ice—fast (typically within an hour)
- Provide outstanding, no-hassle service every time
Today, Bear Ice is still a family-owned business, proudly serving families, businesses, and agencies across Southern California.
